Surgery

We offer a range of elective surgical procedures from Mondays to Fridays and can provide for emegency procedures at any time.

Our sterile theatre is equipped with Isoflurane anaesthesia, pulse oximetry, ap-alerts, BP monitoring and IV fluid machines.  Our nurses are certificate 4 accredited and we have a high nurse to patient ratio which allows us to maintain the best level of monitoring and individual care.

Radiography

X-rays remain a very important diagnostic tool and are used not only to detect fractures and luxations, but also to assess chest and heart conditions, as well as many abdominal abnormalities.

Our  x-ray machine allows us to take great quality radiographs on any pet and on any body parts.

Avenue Road Vet Surgery is also accredited with the Penn-Hip Scheme which is considered the most effective and up to date technique in assessing your pet for hip dysplasia.

Dental

Dental disease remains one of the most common and silent diseases of dogs and cats because it is not always easy to check deep inside their mouths! For those who can manage regular checks at home, signs of dental diseases are red bleeding gums, smelly breath and tartar accumulation. Dental disease can quickly cause pain and bacteria can spread to other body parts, so regular dental check ups are a must.  Dental work (teeth scale, polish and removal) represents a large part of our daily surgical schedule.

Don’t forget that August is  dental month and we offer free nurse dental checks each year to ensure you pet keeps a healthy  bright smile!

Diets

We support Hills Pet Nutrition because we believe in their products outstanding quality. We have witnessed, over the years, the amazing difference Hills diets can make to our pets health and wellbeing. From the inside out, it is just the best! The complete range of Science Hills and Prescription diets are available at the surgery.

Preventative care

A broad range of intestinal wormers, heartworm prevention, flea products, treats and toys are available over the counter at the surgery. Our fully qualified nurses will help you selecting the product that will best suit your pet’s needs.
